If you’re driving to your show, take a look at the multiple convenient parking options that surround the arena. It’s best to plan accordingly to secure your spot.

On-Site Parking Options

There is a PPG Paints Arena parking garage, a 642-car five-story facility at 1300 Centre Avenue. This adjacent facility provides convenient parking options for guests. If this fills up too quickly, you can find multiple parking garages within a short walking distance that offer pre-paid and day-of-event parking.

Arriving early or purchasing parking in advance improves your chances of getting a convenient spot. Parking rates depend on the facility and how far in advance you purchase your pass. Check for savings on third-party apps or through arena partnerships.

Public Parking Nearby

Public parking options abound throughout downtown Pittsburgh, mostly within a 10-minute walk of the arena. Some people find it better to park slightly further away from the venue at more reasonable rates and enjoy the short walk through downtown’s vibrant streets to the arena. For example, the Grant Street Transportation Center and FirstSide Garage offer hundreds of spaces at competitive rates. 

Street parking is available but limited, with meters (typically until 6 p.m. on weekdays). You should check posted signs carefully, as some areas restrict parking during rush hour.

Alternative Transportation

You can reach the arena using Pittsburgh’s public transportation system, which includes bus routes and the T light rail. The Steel Plaza stop at Ross Street and Sixth Avenue is closest to the PPG Paints Arena. Other downtown stations can be found on First Avenue and Wood Street, which are about a 12-minute walk from the venue.

Ridesharing services also have drop-off and pick-up zones right near the arena, giving you a great way to avoid parking hassles and driving after drinking at evening events.
