If you’ve never seen a young guitar slinging bluegrass prodigy on stage before, then Billy Strings is definitely one to check out. The singer-guitarist won his first International Bluegrass Music Award as Best New Artist at 26 and a Grammy Award for Best Bluegrass album at 28. When we say that this wunderkind has been killing it in the last decade, we’re not kidding. Billy Strings have no problems selling out venues wherever he goes. And his fans are as passionate as him and his band, showing up in various cities just to catch their mighty fully packed set.
Billy Strings is slated to cover 11 cities this fall with some of his stops, comprising two night showdowns. For PPG Paints Arena, Strings will perform from Friday 7th November to Saturday 8th November, 2025. It’s surefire to be a thrilling rundown of his most astounding hits as he covers his catalog, from 2017’s Turnmoil & Tinfoil to his latest work Highway Prayers, released in 2024. Strings also loves his covers – being a child growing up with prog, bluegrass, and country powerhouses that paved the way, Billy Strings had been known to perform songs from John Hartford, Bill Emerson, and The Osbourne Brothers, among others.
Emerging from Michigan in 2013, Billy Strings released his debut EP Rock of Ages with Don Julin. The following year, he and Julin released a follow up effort Fiddle Tune X. This partnership with Don Julin lasted a total of four years with Strings on the guitar and Julin on Mandolin. In 2017, Billy Strings released his debut album Turmoil & Tinfoil. The album entered the Bluegrass chart, peaking at number 3. Rolling Stone included him in the list of Top Ten Country Artists You Have to Know in 2017. Having excellent guitar playing prowess at such a young age, Strings caught the attention of his influential and established peers. He has performed on stage with Phish, Greensky Bluegrass, The String Cheese Incident, and Willie Nelson. In 2022, Strings released a collaboration album with his step father Terry Barber, who had influenced him into playing guitar and listening to country and bluegrass music.
